About Tiggy

Tiggy Johnson began telling tales as a youngster when she told her mum her brother had hit her. With maturity, she developed skills to make stuff up that doesn’t necessarily come true. Her science degree and past life as an insurance loss adjuster did little to prepare her for her current work as a stay-at-home mother, writer and editor.
Tiggy's short story collection Svetlana or Otherwise was released in 2008 and her poetry collection First taste in 2010. She co-wrote That zero year with Andrew Phillips, a chapbook to represent their collaborative performance at the 2012 Queensland Poetry Festival.
Her stories and poems have appeared in various literary magazines and journals, including Black Inc's Best Australian Poems 2012, and on Melbourne trains. She was awarded 2nd prize in the Herald-Sun Short Story Competition 2004.
Tiggy is a founding editor of Page Seventeen literary magazine, editing and publishing the first eight issues (2004-2010). She is also a teacher but, shhhh, don't let that get around.
Tiggy grew up in Melbourne and now lives in Brisbane. She is currently completing her Masters in Information Studies (Librarianship) and has caught the genealogy bug.
If you want to know a little more, check out a few interviews she's done. She's spoken to Spineless Wonders about short stories, to Verita La and Lisa Wardle about writing poetry and to Another Lost Shark about publishing poetry.
For the complete stalking experience, trawl her blog (though she doesn't hang out there anymore).
